Archery Rounds and Tournaments
WAA 600 shoots
The WAA 600 shoots are a great way for new and experienced archers to challenge themselves, and learn about tournament scoring and procedures in a friendly low-stress environment.
Each archer elects a target size and distance from those offered below.
You will shoot 15 ends, of 6 arrows each (90 arrows in total), and your aim is to get a score of 600 or better. You are not competing against anyone, just testing how well you can shoot on the day. There are usually two sighting-ends to begin.
The first time you make the 600 score, you will receive a coloured ribbon, a WAA badge, and a booklet to keep track of your scores. Pins are also awarded for ‘Perfect’ scores - six arrows in the yellow zone.

WAA Indoor Archery Championships
The WAA Indoor Champs is an indoor archery competition held once per year. Competitors shoot two rounds at a distance of 18m - an 18m FITA round, and a Portsmouth round.
18m FITA
Archers shoot 60 arrows from 18m, at a 40cm three-spot target face (novices, Barebow, and Longbow archers may choose a single-spot face).
18m Portsmouth
Archers shoot 60 arrows from 18m at a 60cm three-spot face (Novices may choose a single-spot face).
Indoor archery can be a great way for newer archers to have a go at competing. While the targets are small, the shorter distance means most lower poundage bows will be suitable.
